MCNP simulations for the n_TOF NEAR station

The NEAR station is the newest experimental area of n_TOF facility at CERN, utilizing spallation process to generate extremely high neutron flux within a broad energy spectrum. As part campaign for determination beam spectral features, numerous foils have been irradiated last year and induced activities were measured implementing HPGe detector.
 Experimental data analysis foil’s gamma-ray spectra, yielded saturated each material that can be used unfold characteristics through deconvolution using SAND-II code. Since this mostly mathematical does not account geometry, shielding scattering effects, correction factors need defined applied in order produce more robust accurate result.
 For purpose Monte Carlo simulations MCNP code performed investigate self-shielding its effect on both gamma rays emitted. Also, detailed simulation including full geometry setup was developed possible influence peripheral materials (cement, other foils, mylar as well aluminum sample holder rails) total reaches individual foil neutrons.
